Traverse PC Desktop 2017 will have many new features, however only one of them will change the world. Just kidding. It may not change the world but it will make your life a bit easier. I’ve been working on Font Tools. It’s a new right-click menu in the Drawing Data Manager that’s designed to help you manage the fonts used by the drawing. Simply expand the Font subtree and right-click a font to get to your options.
Convert To Font: Converts text objects with the selected font to another font. The Convert Fonts dialog box will let you choose a font to convert the objects to.
Delete Font: You can expand each font to see how many text objects use it. If no text objects use that font, then it can be deleted from the drawing.
Delete Unused Fonts: Deletes fonts from the drawing that are not used by any text objects.
Delineate Font: This lets you delineate Survey Space, Paper Space, or all text objects that use the selected font. Delineating fonts lets you see where they are used in the drawing by highlighting them.
Select Font: You can select Survey Space, Paper Space, or all text objects that use the selected font. Once selected, you can operate on all of them with a single command.
Set Object Properties: You can use the Set Object Properties dialog to set the properties of all objects that use the selected font.
This is a great way to manage your fonts and we’re excited to continue building fun features like Font Tools for TPC 2017. Check out our short video on the new Font Tools.
