Choose What Data COGO Works With

Many COGO dialogs include a pull down What list that shows the data the COGO operation can operate on. When you choose COGO Rotate for example, the list might include options to rotate the entire survey, the selected or tagged traverses in the Traverse View, the selected points in the Points Manager or the entire traverse displayed in an open Traverse View.

Context Sensitive

The What list is context sensitive. If you select a COGO command from a particular view, the list display the option associated with that view. For example, if you select 5 points in the Points Manager then choose Cogo, Rotate, the What list will display '5 Selected items in Points Manager'. If you want to rotate something else, just pull down the list and select the item you want. As you open and close views, the list changes.

Accessing COGO from a View

Views have their own COGO menus so you can initiate a Cogo command with the data from that view. If you select 20 points in a Traverse View then choose Cogo, Translate, the What list in the Translate dialog will display '20 Selected items in Lot 2 Traverse'. The dialog appears to track with whatever you are doing at the time. You can still choose other items from the What list if you want.

Refreshing the List

Choose the Refresh button to the right of the What list. The list examines the views that are currently open in the survey and populates the list accordingly. For example, if you have two traverses open in their respective Traverse Views, refreshing the list will include options to rotate each traverse in it's entirely and/or the points that are selected (if any) in each traverse view.

If a COGO dialog is left open, the What list refreshes automatically each time a view is opened or closed.

Entire Survey

If a COGO operation, like Rotate or Translate, can do the entire survey, the list will include an 'Entire Survey' line. To rotate or translate the entire survey, just select this item from the list then rotate.

Entire Traverse

If a COGO command, like Stations, can do an entire traverse, it will list each available traverse with it's name, as in 'Entire Traverse: Lot2'. Traverses are listed this way if they were selected when the dialog was opened or if they are currently displayed in an open view. If the traverse you want to operate on is not in the list, select it in the Traverses Manager, open it's Traverse View, or right click an object in the current drawing that was created by that traverse and choose Cogo, command.

Selected / Tagged Items in Points Manager, Traverse View, etc.

When appropriate, the What list includes selected and tagged items in the views. In the Rotate example shown here, 4 traverses were tagged in the Traverses Manager so the list includes them. To rotate just the 4 tagged traverses, select this item from the list. If a single traverse is selected in the Traverses Manager, it is included in list as 'Entire Traverse: traverse name' instead of '1 Selected item in the Traverses Manager'.
