The snap commands allow you to pick an exact position based on other objects in the drawing. The snap options available for any command step are listed in the prompt for that step, as in "Left click start point (End\Mid\Insert\inTersect)".
To do a snap, press the capitalized letter for the snap option you want or select from the Snap toolbar. Move the cursor over the object you want to snap to and left click. If you are snapping to an End, left click near the end you want to snap to. The program uses the computed position of the snap instead of the left click position.
Snap to the end point of a line or arc, nearest corner of a rectangle, or nearest vertex of a polyline.
Snap to the mid point of a line, arc, rectangle side, or polyline segment.
Snap to a point on this object that is perpendicular to the last node. It can be used with lines and polylines. This snap tool can never be used as the initial insert position of an object.
Snap to the insert or mid point of the object.
Snap to the intersection of two objects.
Snaps to the closest object. The cursor must be fairly close to the intended object, usually within ½” or less.
Snap to a point on an arc or circle that is tangent to the last node. It can be used with lines and polylines. This snap tool can never be used as the initial insert position of an object.
