Using Help

We've combined the TPC manual, short how-to videos, recorded demos, program screen shots, workflow steps and lots more into our Unified Help System.

On-line - it's available on-line with the latest additions and corrections.

It installs with the program, so even if you're off-line, you still have help.

Learning [topic]

Most chapters in the Table of Contents start with a Learning [topic] section, like Learning Least Squares.

Whether you are new to TPC or just new to a particular topic, this is a great place to starting learning.

We list the resources available for that topic, like Learning Guide, Videos and Recorded Demos.

Table of Contents

The Contents tab lists topics like 'Using COGO' in the Table of Contents.

The Table Of Contents provides a high level view of what TPC does and is a great way for you to jump into just the help you are looking for.  Find the chapter you want, then expand the subtopics until you find what you want.

Unified Help System (2:41) - Open the help topics and use the Table of Contents, Index or Search to find what you want

Searching for help

Type in what you want to look for like Resection or Fillet.  The help system lists all the help topics that contain what you are looking for.

Context Sensitive Help

Context help applies to whatever you are doing at the time in the program.  Like, when you are entering data in a dialog, you want help on that dialog.

Highlight a Command in any menu and press F1 for help on that command.

Click and hold the left mouse button on any tool bar button and press F1 to get help on that tool.

Press F1 in any View (i.e. Traverses Manager, Traverse View) to get help on that view.

Press F1 in any dialog for help on that dialog.

In any dialog, left click the question mark (?) in the upper right corner, then left click anywhere on the dialog for help on that dialog.

Choose Help | What's This then left click any item on the screen to get help about it.
