Setting Traverse Drawing Settings

Each point code has its own Traverse Drawing Settings that can be used to draw the traverse created from each code.

With just a little bit of work up front in establishing your point codes and their Traverse Drawing Settings, Traverse PC will greatly automate the drawing process.

Creating Traverses from Point Codes

When you add points to traverses based on their codes, the Traverse Drawing Settings stored with the code are copied to the Traverse Drawing Settings of the created traverse. If you then include the traverse in a drawing, TPC will draw the points with the appropriate symbol, line type, color, etc.

You are also free to edit the Traverse Drawing Settings for the traverses created from point codes without affecting the Traverse Drawing Settings stored with the point code itself. This gives you added flexibility in how your map looks while retaining all your standard Traverse Drawing Settings in the codes.

Edit Traverse Drawing Settings

•In the Point Codes Manager, select (highlight) a point code and choose Tools | Modify Code | Traverse Drawing Settings.

•or in the Point Code Properties dialog, choose [Traverse Drawing Settings].

TPC displays the Code Settings dialog with the appropriate tabs. You will notice that in addition to lines and symbols, you can also specify things like fills and lot labels. So if a traverse that is created by point codes creates a closed figure like a lot, TPC can automatically label it for you.

To Copy Settings From One Code to Another

•In the Point Codes Manager, select (highlight) the point code you want to copy from and choose Tools | Modify Code | Copy Traverse Drawing Settings.

•Select the code or codes to paste the settings to then right click your selection and choose Tools | Modify Code | Paste Traverse Drawing Settings.
