I’ve found a point and the calculated corner point is 0.15′ from a found pin. I would like to create a sketch(new drawing) showing the relationship between the calc’d and found points and perhaps create something i can insert into a page of my map as a detail of that corner … currently i haven’t been able to set the scale of the drawing say 1″=1′ and then center the point (say 801) in the middle of the screen using the view find point command at the scale of 1″=1′ ..

question is can i center point 801 on my page at any scale i choose. and then change the scale using point 801 as the center of the zoom..

If you don’t mind, please attach that TRV file to this thread and let me know which two points you want in the detail.

We are adding a very slick Drawing Detail tool to TPC Desktop 2021 and I would be interested to see if it properly handles the scale for this 0.15′ difference.

Details aside, you should be able to type any scale you want into the Scale dropdown list in the Drawing View toolbar. You can also add your own scales in Tools, Program Settings, Drawing View. I would see if that gets you what you need first.

i have attached the .trv file that i am working in. In the HardCopy drawing at the southwest side of the lots is found point #14 and calc’d point 801.. they are actually closer than .14 i have attached a hand drawn sketch showing the detail .. it would be nice to be able to easily be able to create a similar detail in the HardCopy drawing or even a new drawing.

i created a new 8.5 x 11 drawing and wanted to zoom way in and show dimensions, but i could not get point 801 to quickly be in the center of the drawing at a scale such as 1″=1′

Looks like that .trv file wasn’t able to upload to the forum. You can zip it or send it to tech@traverse-pc.com
