What is an ALTA/NSPS LAND TITLE SURVEY?
ALTA/NSPS Land ALTA/NSPS Title Surveys are defined on the ALTA website www.alta.org/standards/standards.cfm. “For a survey of real property and the plat or map of the survey to be acceptable to a title insurance company for purposes of insuring title to said real property free and clear of survey matters (except those matters disclosed by the survey and indicated on the plat or map), certain specific and pertinent information shall be presented for the distinct and clear understanding between the client (insured), the title insurance company (insurer), and the surveyor (the person professionally responsible for the survey).” Traverse PC Least Squares Network solution includes all the tools to satisfy the ALTA2021Minimum Standard and provides a report showing whether or not the boundary surveyed meets this minimum standard.
What is CAD EXPORT/IMPORT?
TPC data and drawings can be exported to CAD software. CAD data and drawings can be imported to TPC.

What is COGO?
Coordinate geometry (COGO) is used to map the location of features and their boundaries measured on the ground and recorded on survey plans, deed descriptions, and other types of physical or electronic land record documents. COGO measurements typically describe features relative to each other. The following example survey plan shows COGO measurements for a road centerline and parcel boundaries adjoining the road.
Is TPC COMPATIBLE WITH AUTOCAD?
TPC is fully CAD compatible. Just calibrate the CAD file to your survey. Once you have created a calibration between your survey and another coordinate system used for CAD, you can easily export aTPC Desktop drawing to that original CAD coordinate system. We’ve also built-in a native CAD viewer into the core of TPC Desktop. This allows you to transfer survey data back and forth between a TPC drawing and a CAD drawing. Convert an existing CAD drawing from one type to another or one version to another. Open a CAD drawing and pull out a value you need. You can export any TPC Desktop drawing to CAD, with layers, blocks polylines, nMTEXT, polyfacemesh and all the CAD stuff you would have gotten if you had done your survey in CAD. Our Calibration tools make it easy to work with CAD files that aren’t on your survey grid.
Is TPC COMPATIBLE WITH TOTAL STATION?
A total station is an electronic/optical instrument used for surveying and building construction. It is an electronic transit theodolite integrated with electronic distance measurement (EDM) to measure both vertical and horizontal angles and the slope distance from the instrument to a particular point, and an on-board computer to collect data and perform triangulation calculations. TPC functions directly with total station data for calibration, reports, alignment, offsets, equations, vertical curves, alignments and much more.

What is LandXML?
PC imports and exportsLandXML files. These are XML data files defined by LandXML Home.
What is LEAST SQUARES?
The concept of using a Least Squares (LSQ) analysis to solve a group of related equations has been around for hundreds of years. But because of the lengthy computations, it wasn’t till the advent of the computer that Least Squares analysis became practical. To understand the basic concepts of Least Squares, we need to discuss survey errors and precisions.
What is a LEGAL DESCRIPTION WRITER?
Legal descriptions employ special terms like radial, tangent, cusp, Point of Commencement vs Point of Beginning, etc.. The definitions of these terms are important in understand when and how certain phrases are used. As a rule, TPC uses these terms as defined in Writing Legal Description – In Conjunction with Survey Boundary Control, Wattles, copyright 1979 by Wattles Publications. This help topic will not define all legal description definitions. Our goal here is to help you identify what data goes into what phrases. As you edit each phrase available in a TPC’s legal description style, TPC lists the place holders available for that phrase. So a tangent phrase will not include place holders for curve data. But you still need to know some basic definitions.
What is NTRIP/RTK?
Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol (NTRIP) is a standardized method of transmitting RTK corrections from permanent base stations. Emlid receivers support NTRIP via RTCM3 (Radio Technology Commission for Maritime Services).
What is a STAKEOUT REPORT?
The stakeout report generates a cut sheet, showing cuts and fills for selected points. The stakeout report compares the selected stakeout points (these points have either an @ symbol or an _ underscore in the point label, as in 12_1 or 12@1). The stakeout points are compared with their design points. For example, both 12_1 and 12@1 would be compared with point 12.
