You have been directed to this page because you have an issue that we have not been able to identify and resolve. Please follow the steps below to gather the dump files we need to resolve the problem for you. Once we have what we need, you will be able to stop creating the dump files.
1 – Install
- Please right-click this LINK and choose Save Target As, Save Link As or the equivalent depending on what web browser you are using
Note that if you simply left-click the link, your web browser will open the file as a text file and that does not actually do anything - Once the file (Install_TPC_2023_crash_dump_key.reg) has been saved to your computer, please run it
- When you are asked if you want to allow the Registry Editor app to make changes to your computer, choose Yes
- When you are asked if you are sure that you want to continue, choose Yes
- When you are told that the keys and values have been successfully added to the registry, choose OK
You can leave this installed until your issue has been resolved. Then you can Uninstall it.
2 – Run & Send
- Run TPC Desktop 2022 and perform the action needed to create the crash (or, if it is a random issue, wait for it to happen during your workflow)
- Immediately make a note of the circumstances and steps you did that caused the problem (it is important that this is done immediately as it is very easy to forget the little things that may be key)
This could be things like “I was entering new points by angle and distance in the ABCD traverse”, “I was doing a bearing-bearing intersection from A to B”, etc. The more detail you can provide, the better - Make note of the full version number of TPC you’re running. You’ll find it in the Tasks manager under the TPC License section
- Go to WeTransfer (or a similar tool that you can use to transfer large files without needing a login)
- Browse to the crash dump file(s) (*.dmp) that have been created (use the plus sign + in WeTransfer to browse)
The .dmp file(s) will be located in C:ProgramDataTraverse PCTPC Desktop 2023Dumps - Upload all *.dmp files you find there
- Browse to your .TRV project file location
- Upload all project filename files you find there regardless of extension (this will include .trv, .rtf, .doc, .trb1, .trb2, etc.)
- Use your email address as the address the files will be sent from
- Use tech@traverse-pc.com as the address to send the files to
- Include the details you noted in steps 7 and 8
- Browse to the crash dump file(s) (*.dmp) that have been created (use the plus sign + in WeTransfer to browse)
- Send all of the files to Traverse PC Technical support
You may be asked to Run & Send more than once as we resolve and test the issue.
