Use this command to calibrate the survey data selected in the current view. TPC displays the Calibrate dialog.
Select What
The Calibrate dialog allows you to select the entire survey or calibration of just selected data within it. Often times you will select certain traverses or points and calibrate them to bring them onto the same grid as your survey.
What Survey Data is Calibrated
TPC calibrates the following survey data
Points
When a survey point is calibrated, it's coordinate position changes to match the target coordinate system of the selected calibration.
If a point is protected, it is not calibrated unless [x] Protected Points is turned on.
Lines
When a survey line is calibrated, TPC scales it's distances to match the scale component of the calibration.
So if the scale component of the calibration is 0.998, all distance for the line will be multiplied by 0.998.
Raw Data
When raw data is calibrated, TPC applies both the scale and rotation from the calibration to the raw data.
Reporting a Calibration
The Calibrate dialog lets you report the calibration in the Message View with the [x] Show Details option or in the Report View with the Summary button.
Either way, you'll see the calibration information like scale and rotation values along with the Uncalibrated and calibrated points, lines and raw data.
Undoing a Calibration
The Calibrate dialog lets you undo the last calibration.
You can also undo the calibration of the entire survey or any part of it with the Uncalibrate command.
