TPC lets you calibrate an entire survey or any part of it.  See Calibrate command.

What List

Choose what in the survey you want to calibrate. You have the choice between converting the entire survey (Default) or any part of it.

Selected Data

Select items in the Points Manager, Traverses Manager or Drawing Manager.

When you open the Calibrate dialog or refresh the What List, the What List will include the selected items by view.

Tagged Data

Tag items in the Points Manager, Traverses Manager or Drawing Manager.

When you open the Calibrate dialog or refresh the What List, the What List will include the tagged items by view.

Drawing Data

You can also calibrate objects selected in the Drawing View. Simply use the Select Objects command and choose what objects you want to have converted from the Drawing View and the What List will take care of the rest!

Last Import

If you have imported data via the File, Import command, the What List will include a line for Last Imported with the number of data objects imported. If you select this, TPC will apply the calibration to each imported object.

Options

Protected Points

Calibrate protected points.

Raw Data

Calibrate raw data like slope distance, radius, etc.

Drawings

Beginning with TPC 2023 R1, you can tell TPC to calibrate any drawings that have traverses or surfaces tagged in them.  Drawings that don't include tagged traverses or surfaces are not calibrated.

Show details

Turn this option On to report details details like what points and lines were calibrated in the Message View after the calibration is completed.

Select a Calibration

You can use an existing calibration or create a new one.

Use an existing calibration

Select an existing calibration to use. You can reuse any calibration any number of times in any survey.

The existing calibration can be one you created earlier for this particular survey or it can be a calibration you created for another survey.

Default Calibration

Each time you use an existing calibration, TPC makes it the survey's default calibration. Future calibration operations will default to this calibration unless you choose otherwise.

This is not the same as the survey's Site Calibration, which remains fixed by the Site Calibration dialog.

Browse

This button allows you to select a calibration from the survey's folder (default action).

Preview

Opens the currently selected calibration in a word processor.

Calibration Information

Displays information about the selected calibration, like its name, date created and the coordinated systems being calibrated from and to.

Select point pairs manually

This option is not available all the time.

Choose this option if you do not see the calibration you want or have not yet created it. TPC will prompt you to create a new calibration by selecting points in both the Uncalibrated and calibrated coordinate systems.

Prompt me to save a new calibration or update and existing on when finished

This option is not available all the time.

Turn this option On (default) so save the calibration after TPC computes the calibration parameters. If the calibration is saved, TPC creates an index for that calibration and stores that calibration index with each survey object that is calibrated. This allows TPC to un-calibrate or re-calibrate any of these objects.

Turn this option Off if you want to create an ad-hoc calibration that will not be stored either by the survey or a calibration file.

Reverse Calibrate

Turn this option on to apply the calibration in reverse when you choose Compute. You can use the From and To descriptions for the calibration to visualize the direction.

For example, if you have created a calibration that calibrates from the CRS coordinates of your survey to local site values like 5000/5000, calibrating GNSS points will move them to your local site. So to move local site coordinates to CRS coordinate positions, simply reverse calibrate them. Once at CRS coordinate positions, they will generate legitimate geodetic positions via your survey's CRS.

Compute

Applies the calibration you have specified.

Cancel

Returns you to the previous view without making any changes.

Summary

Adds a summary, of the last calibration computed, to the Report View.  This summary is very similar in format and information to the [ ] Show Details added to the Message View.

Undo

Undo the last calibration.
