Update Point Code Traverses

TPC knows which traverses were created from Point Codes and can update these traverses, adding any points with the appropriate point codes that were not included when the traverse was created. You would use this command if you were adding data to an existing site survey and wanted to make sure that you had all the catch basin points in the catch basin traverse and all the utility pole points in the utility pole traverse, etc.

Example

If you have a 'CL - Center Line' traverse with all the 'CL' points in it and you import 20 new 'CL' shots from your data collector, TPC can add the 20 new shots to the 'CL - Center Line' traverse.

Updating Traverses from Managers / Views

•from the TPC Desktop, choose Tools | Update Existing Point Code Traverses.

•from the Point Codes Manager, choose Tools | Update Existing Point Code Traverses.

•from the Point Codes Manager, choose Tools | Sort Points Into Traverses By Code and turn on the [x] Update existing traverses only.

•from a Traverse View, choose Tools | Update From Point Code.

If one or more selected traverses don't have a Point Code associated with them, TPC will issue a warning to let you know.

Sorting Points Within Updated Traverses

When TPC appends new points to a traverse using these commands, it does not re-sort the points within the traverse to the nearest neighbor. That option is only executed when the traverse is first created from its point code. You can however, go to the Traverse View for a traverse and choose Tools | Sort.
