Use this command to snap to the object nearest the cursor.
Beginning with TPC Desktop 2026, TPC prompts you to select a near object after you start this command. Left-click a near object to select it or left-click any blank spot to continue the command without selecting a near object.
Selecting a Near Object
When you select a near object, TPC limits the snap nearest operation to just that object.
For large drawings, this can greatly increase the responsiveness of this command.
This option is also useful when you want to limit snapping to one particular drawing object.
Not Selecting a Near Object
If you continue this command without selecting a near object, TPC will evaluate the entire drawing to determine the nearest object to snap to. Much like it does in Object Snap mode.
For large drawings, this may slow down the responsiveness of this command.
