In TPC, a survey keeps track of its own point codes in a .pct file with the same name as the survey.
When you open a survey, TPC looks for a point code file having the same file name as the survey and the PCT extension. It looks for the point code file in the same folder as the survey file. If TPC doesn't find a point code file for the survey, it creates a new one with no codes in it unless a default point code table has been defined. If you have defined a default point code table, TPC populates the new PCT file with the codes from the default point code table.
Point Code Manager
The Point Code Manager is where you work with those codes. It lists all of the survey's current point codes and lets you add additional codes as needed.
If a survey has one or more point codes, they are saved in a .pct file with the same filename as the survey. So a survey with the filename Job1.trv will also have a Job1.pct file.
When you save a survey, TPC also saves it's .pct file if any codes have been added, deleted or edited.
