Converting Fonts

The Convert Font tool is a good example of why we added the font tools.

It lets you change fonts in a drawing.  So if you don't want to use font A, just convert it font B. But instead of selecting one drawing object at a time and changing it's font, you can select drawing objects that uses that font and change that font to another font.

Accessing Font Tools

These font tools are available in both the Drawing View and the Drawing Data Manager.

See Accessing Font Tools.

Survey Drawing Objects

Survey drawing objects, like point labels, line labels, are generated by their corresponding survey data.  Their fonts are set by their Traverse Drawing Settings.

The Convert Fonts dialog has an option you can turn on to convert the fonts of these objects. If you choose to convert them, TPC will retain the converted font as a modified attribute which can be reset to the controlling traverse settings anytime.

Drawing Layers

The fonts of drawing objects on locked layers, frozen layers and layers that are turned Off are not converted. If you want to convert objects on these layers, you will first need to make sure they are Unlocked, Thawed and turned On.

Undo Convert

Use the Undo command to revert a font conversion. See Undoing Drawing Commands.
