Saving & Recalling Table Settings

You can save and recall named table properties, allowing you to change an existing table to a saved setting just by recalling that setting in the Table Properties dialog.

Saving and Recalling Table Settings (5:12) - Learn 3 ways to work with drawing table settings to get the table styles you want when you want them.

User[table type].dat Files

TPC keeps a list of named settings for each table type (Line, Curve, Lot, Point) in a .dat file located in the Program Data folder.  See Program Data.

The files are named UserLineTable.dat, UserCurveTable.dat, UserLotTable.dat and UserPointTable.dat.

Saving Table Settings

To save table settings

•set the properties of a table the way you want

•in the Table Properties dialog, choose [ Save ]

•select an existing name from the Format pulldown or choose [ New ]  and enter a new name

•choose OK so save the settings

The settings you just saved were added to the User[table type].dat file for that table type.

Recalling Table Settings

To recall table settings

•in the Table Properties dialog, choose [ Recall ]

•select a named table setting from the list and choose OK

•make any changes you want to the table's properties in the Table Properties dialog and choose OK to update the table

Changing Just the Column Names

Saved table settings store any edits you have made to the column names, along with the other table properties.

However, you can further modify just the column names by Opening a column header file.  See Editing Column Names.
