In TPC, traverse closure and checking closure refers to how well a traverse closes on a known point and any errors involved in that closure, but it also refers to information about that traverse at that time, like it's length and area.
Checking Closure (5:05) - Point Codes can now be accessed from point attributes as well as point descriptions.

Traverse Closure
As you edit a traverse, it's closure information is free to change. So TPC thinks of traverse closure as a snapshot in time.
Traverse closure is displayed in the Closure View, which always displays the current status of the traverse. If you have not yet applied any adjustments, it displays the raw closure, area and length. If you balance coordinates, the Closure View will display the balanced closure, area and length.
Closure View
The Closure View handles all the traverse summary and adjustment functions of TPC. To open the Closure View, open the Traverse View for the traverse you are interested in, then choose the Closure View command.
Some adjustments, like precision, are sticky adjustments and are retained even if you recompute the traverse.
Traverse Summary
In addition to closing errors, the Closure View also reports traverse summary information like length and area.
Distance and Direction Types
The closure data is based on the Distance and Direction types selected for that traverse. The types are listed immediately under the Closure View heading.
Distance Units
The closure distance units are determined by the traverse units. You set these in the Advanced tab of the Traverse View Format dialog.
Closure Settings
The closure settings you select for a traverse determine how the traverse information is reported, what adjustments are available and how they are applied.
