Editing drawing text is one of those everyday tasks that should be simple. Whether you’re updating a title block, correcting a legal description, or reviewing notes in a text box, readability matters.
That’s why TPC 26.2 introduces a new Zoom Control in the Drawing Text Editor.
Make Text Easier to Read and Edit
Drawing text comes in all sizes. Sometimes the text you’re editing is so large it fills the entire editor window. Other times it’s so small that reading and editing it becomes difficult.
The new Zoom Control lets you adjust the display size of text while editing, making it easier to work with text regardless of its actual size in the drawing.
Best of all, zooming only affects how the text appears in the editor—it does not change the size, style, or formatting of the text in your drawing.
Multiple Ways to Zoom
TPC 26.2 gives you several ways to adjust the editing view:
- Use the new Zoom Slider in the Text Editor dialog
- Hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel
- Resize the editor window for additional workspace
This allows you to quickly find a comfortable editing size whether you’re working with a single line title or a lengthy paragraph.
Works With Formatted Text
Many users prefer to edit text with formatting applied so they can see fonts, bold, italics, underlines, and other formatting as they work.
The Text Editor continues to support both approaches:
- Edit text using a default font and size
- Apply formatting and edit text exactly as it appears
The new zoom controls work in either mode.
Easier Editing of Large Text Blocks
The zoom feature is especially useful when working with:
- Legal descriptions
- Notes and callouts
- Text boxes containing multiple paragraphs
- Rich text objects
- Long lists of bearings, distances, and survey calls
Being able to zoom in makes it easier to spot formatting issues, accidental line breaks, spacing problems, and other small details that can be difficult to see at normal size.
Likewise, zooming out can make it easier to view larger sections of text without excessive scrolling.
Rich Text Support
Rich Text objects also support zooming while editing.
Because Rich Text can contain multiple fonts and formatting styles within the same object, formatting is always displayed when editing. The new zoom controls make it easier to review and modify these more complex text elements while maintaining full visibility of their formatting.

The new Text Edit Zoom feature may seem like a small addition, but it improves one of the most common tasks performed in a drawing.
