
Moving drawings from TPC into CAD should be simple—and predictable. In TPC 26, we’ve made an important improvement to how line types are handled during CAD export, resulting in cleaner files and fewer post-export adjustments.
Smarter Line Type Exporting
When exporting a drawing to CAD, TPC now exports only the line types that are actually used in the drawing, along with standard defaults like ByLayer, Continuous, and None.
This keeps CAD files lean and organized, eliminating unnecessary line types that can clutter layer managers and confuse downstream users.
Expanded Support for Predefined Line Types
TPC 2026 also exports most of TPC’s predefined line types directly to CAD.
This is possible because TPC leverages the line type shapes found in the ltypeshp.shx file that ships with most CAD programs. By using these standard shapes, line types appear correctly in CAD without requiring custom definitions or manual fixes.
