Licenses

Got questions about your TPC license?

Subscription

You purchase a subscription license for a specific period of time, called the Subscription Period.

  • At the end of the license period, you are automatically billed and the subscription renews for another Subscription Period.
  • You can cancel a subscription at any time.

Trial

A trial license is a subscription that starts with a trial period, usually 30 days. You can cancel the trial anytime during the trial period and you will not be billed for the trial. However, if you do not cancel the trial, you will be billed for the associated subscription at the end of the trial period.

Perpetual

A perpetual license never expires. You purchase it once and run it as long as you choose to.

Of course, you can update to a newer version any time os sign up for our TPC Connection and receive all updates automatically.

Single User License (Perpetual)

Single User licenses allows one person at a time to run TPC.  If two or more people need to run TPC at the same time, you need to purchase an additional license for each person or switch to a network license. See License Agreement.

You can easily install a single user license on more than one computer, then activate it on the computer you want to run it on. See  Running a Single User License on Multiple Computers.

Outgrowing Your Single User License

As soon as someone else in your office needs to run TPC the same time you do, you’ve outgrown your single user license. Traverse PC does allow you install a single user license on a computer that can be used by more than one person, but does not allow you to install a single user license on two or more computers that can be used by two or more people simultaneously. That would be a violation of the single user license agreement.

So as you can see, you can outgrow your single user license. At that point, you can purchase additional single user licenses, each of which can be used by only one person at a time, or you can consider a network license.

Are you ready for a network license?

Depending on the number of people in your office and the number of people using Traverse PC, you may benefit from a network license.

Network License (Perpetual)

Network licenses can be purchased for as few as three (3) seats and provide flexible options for sharing the network licenses among any number of users in your office / company.

TPC Connection License

Perpetual licenses, like the Single User and Network licenses, include a TPC Connection License.  This is how TPC provides access to program updates and comprehensive technical support.

Courtesy Licenses

Courtesy licenses are no longer needed with this version. Instead, you manage your own licenses, easily running a single-user license on more than one computer.  See License Management (4:54)  TPC Licenses.

Example

Some of you have asked about running your single-user license of TPC Desktop on both your desktop, which you use everyday, and a field, laptop computer you keep in the truck incase you need it. Without purchasing a separate license for the laptop, try this.

  • Run TPC on your laptop and activate the license on it the shut it off.
  • On your desktop computer, run TPC, in the license manager you will need to deactivate the laptop site then validate your desktop (takes about 30 seconds).
  • Now, when you use your laptop in the field without internet, it will be running on the 30-day grace period.
  • So once a month, maybe at the beginning of the month, repeat these steps.
